Process and Cost
BEAS primarily provides comprehensive speech-language evaluations for Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs). We accept request for speech-language evaluations for IEEs for private pay. Below is a description of our private pay process and the associated cost. Parents/caregivers may seek reimbursement from their school district and encouraged to inquire their school district to obtain specific reimbursement details.

Our Comprehensive SLP Evaluation Process
Step 1
In-Depth Intake
This meeting, conducted virtually or in-person, entails discussing parent/caregiver concerns & goals for the evaluation and obtaining details on the child's developmental history. With parent/caregiver consent, information is also obtained from a variety of other sources to include but not limited to: previous evaluations, school reports, teacher input & observations, and other caregivers & professionals whose input provides insight to the child's development and performance. This information is used to develop a plan of evaluation tailored to meet your child's specific needs as well as the Good Faith Estimate.

Step 2
Comprehensive Evaluation
During this phase, the plan of evaluation is implemented. Multiple sessions are used to conduct a variety of tests selected uniquely for your child. Additionally, this phase may also include observing your child in various situations and settings. This comprehensive approach allows relevant aspects of communication, social skills, and literacy development to be examined.

Step 3
Detail Report Generation
A detailed, comprehensive report is created. This repot includes:

Identification of challenges

Recommended actions for school and home

Step 4
Results Consultation
During this final phase, parents/caregivers meet with the SLP evaluator to receive the detailed report, review results, ask questions, receive education and/or training on recommended home strategies, and discuss school recommendations based on findings.

Our Cost
Butterfly Evaluation and Assessment Services, LLC is consider an "out of network provider."
All services are private-pay.*
*SC school districts may reimburse for IEEs if parents/caregivers disagree with the district's evaluation, request an IEE, and the IEE meets district criteria (i.e.. BEAS evaluator is licensed in SC; certified by ASHA; and provides evaluations & assessments primarily in Dorchester County School District-2 & Charleston County School District),
under IDEA regulations adopted by SC. Parents/caregivers are highly encouraged to follow their school district's process for requesting an IEE and reimbursement.
Free 15-Minute
Initial Consultation
This is a free 15-minute meeting via phone or video call with a licensed SLP to determine if a formal, comprehensive evaluation/assessment is needed. ​

Additionally, a free 15-minute consultation via phone or video call for professional development requests.
Rates
Evaluation/Assessment
Hourly Rate: $200
Approximate Time: 6-15 hours

Actual total cost may vary based on the unique needs of the plan of evaluation developed for the child. Before testing begins, parents/caregivers will receive a Good Faith Estimate which outlines the estimated hours and specific costs of the evaluation.

Professional Development
To provide the best return on investment, our customized training packages include prep work, training materials, and all associated travel and meal expenses.

There shall be NO REFUNDS for any reason.

Payment Process
For evaluations/assessments: A $200 non-refundable fee is required to reserve appointments and will be applied towards the total bill.

Half of the total cost (50%) is due 24-hours prior to the "In-Depth Intake" meeting.

The remaining balance is due 24 hours prior to the "Results Consultation" meeting.

With proper notification, appointments may be rescheduled based on availability but will most likely impact the evaluation completion timeline.

For professional development: A $250 non-refundable fee is required to reserve training dates and will be applied towards the total bill

Timelines for payments are customized to meet specific training package requirements.​​​​
Additional Costs
Certain services are billed separately because of their personalized nature and variable scope. Such services include but are not limited to:

Attending IEP meetings to support parent/caregiver advocacy for services and/or supports for child

Extended consultation for complex cases

Additional consultations beyond the initial "Results Consultation"

Travel time for meetings outside of the standard service area

Re-evaluations, assessments
Potential additional services are discussed during the "In-Depth Intake" meeting; also, payment arrangements for additional services can be discussed during this meeting.
